I slipped and fell a week ago and my upper back, into my neck and shoulders has been severly hurting. It doesn’t hurt during certain times such as moving, lifting things, etc. It just constantly hurt very bad. I’ve had x-rays and the doctor said they looked fine, I’ve been taking pain killers, muscle relaxers, and icing my back and they don’t even touch the pain. Is it really possible that there is nothing wrong and it is just my muscles/tendons? Someone please help and/or give some advice, the pain is unbearable.

if it has been hurting for a long time, i would go back to the doctor because sometimes they do miss things. dont take a chance when it is somethingh as important as a spine.
good luck!

Get a second opinion….if nothing else it will make you feel better..
Peoples pain tolerance are different. You could have injured your muscles and/or tendons….Be careful with the pain killers the doctors give you or you will be a drug addict in no time.
Try heat such as sitting in hot tub, bath tub will work. They did not give you any inflammatorys? Like ibuprofen? I would go in and get a second opinion if it is still hurting like this!
With all the arthritis’s I have, I have been told never to go to a chiroproctor…
Good luck and do not get hooked on those drugs………

sorry you are in pain, i have had severe back pain for close to 11 years and i use a roll on pain reliever called Bio Freeze, it is kinda hard to find and but you can ask your local pharmacy and they might be able to get it or know where you can get it.. it works great, I used to get massages and the massage therapist told me about the bio freeze, it comes in gel or roll on, and maybe some other way, I’m not sure, but also, the massages helped as well for a little while. good luck and try the Bio Freeze and/or massage…………..also, ask your doctor about Lidoderm patches for pain, they are not narcotic, but may help

Should this pain persist, would suggest you visit your local chiropractor for relief.. Injured muscles will go into spasm and pull those vertebae out of position and involve many of the nerve roots.. then comes the inflammatory process, the swelling and the pain.
